Take It Outside is a local retailer providing premium equipment and expertise to people who lead, and love, an active lifestyle. In order to break away from the competition, Take It Outside wanted to focus less on pure product promotion and more on cultivating a community of “Outsiders”. bits was ready at the starting line.

Approach

The goal of the campaign was to introduce Take It Outside in the market, position it as the active lifestyle expert, build top of mind awareness, and grow the Outsider community. The bits team came up with a multi-phased online approach. The first step was to develop a simple, single page scrolling website that celebrates the Outsider spirit in its design and messaging. Aiming to connect Outsiders from across Nova Scotia, we built the site to pull in social feeds from Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, encouraging use of #tioutsiders so people can share their love of the great outdoors.

The next phase involved the introduction of parallax transition effects and development of a full online product catalogue with e-commerce integration. With the recently launched additions, Take It Outside now has the opportunity to further interact with their target audience online and drive sales across the country.
