Twist & Bits is a Halifax-based marketing agency, partnering with clients to develop research-backed creative that helps to reach and develop a deeper bond with their consumers. We focus firstly on research; studying markets and analytics for relevant data, leveraging into insights that will inform a strategy to put our clients’ best foot forward.

DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY

January is synonymous with a clean slate, a fresh start, and a time that signals the release of all kinds of predictions for what this new calendar year will bring us. Even though our designers despise the “T” word, (Karl Lagerfeld said it best, “Trendy is the final stage before tacky.”)  influence and inspiration can, and often is, drawn from what is mainstream. Therefore it is essential that creatives, like us, keep our fingers on the pulse of what is “hot”.

Hike Nova Scotia is a non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage and promote a growing hiking culture throughout Nova Scotia. We began our journey with Hike when they applied to our annual Brand Spring Clean Contest looking for help updating and refreshing their existing brand.

When the InterTalk Critical Information Systems team needed a new website as reliable as their products, they turned to Bits Creative for help. From a custom new site to completely revamped branding - take a look through our case study to see our work on the front lines.

With one loan program, four provinces, six participating organizations and countless stakeholders; we helped the former Seed Loan Program blossom with new name, brand and messaging that really leaves an impact.

At Bits we thrive on being a part of the digital world, it’s what we do best and our typical 9-5 day is deeply immersed in technology. That being said, we also really appreciate quality time away from the screen. In fact, many of the bits staff love spending time in the great outdoors. From walking our pups on the local trails to winter camping excursions; we tend to consider ourselves a pretty “outdoorsy” bunch.

WorldWide Furniture was founded on the belief that quality and style should not have to be sacrificed for great value. Over 40 years later, that same sentiment rings true. Learn how bits.co accomplished a complete brand refresh while staying true to their roots.

Gallery1 Furniture has been providing beautiful, unique furniture to Atlantic Canadians for over a decade. Ready for a brand refresh, our designers and web developers created a website and brand collateral as customised and curated as the products they sell.

Nova Centre is something Halifax hasn’t seen before. It’s a one-million-square-foot, mixed-use development in the heart of our entertainment and business district. Housing a new convention centre, boutique hotel, business towers, restaurants, shops, and public space, it is one of the largest and most ambitious projects Downtown Halifax has seen in a long time.

We worked with Phoenix to develop new mission and vision statements as well as a new logo identity, marketing materials and a new website. Phoenix Youth Programs is a non-profit organization and has long been recognized as a centre of excellence for their support of youth through a continuum of care.
We wanted to engage the community, draw them in, and take them on a journey through the centre—giving a behind-the-scenes perspective on its construction.

In March 2015 we ran our first Brand Spring Clean contest and Phoenix Youth Programs really impressed us with their submission. Since then, we’ve been working closely with Phoenix to bring their brand identity to a level they can be proud of, ensuring it represents the work they do to a tee.

When Marty McFly stepped into the time machine, he flew into the future—2015! And like all evolved trends in the future, typography in web design has changed over the years. Font families have become more affordable, easier to implement, and there are a multitude of options for people working with smaller budgets. This means designers have more typographic flexibility and can create clean, cohesive, and individualized websites.

Together, we created the tagline, “Invested in Abilities”, as a way to communicate this dedicated commitment to their clients’ success.
