As Canada’s largest privately-owned jewelry company with thousands of products available at retail stores across the country and online, Charm Diamond Centres needed a website that provided a streamlined user experience and easy-to-manage backend functionality. As Charm’s Digital Agency of Record, bits knew just how to get engaged.
Our first step was to conduct an audit on the existing website to determine what was working, what needed improvement, and what needed to go. Working closely with the team at Charm for a number of years, we’ve become familiar with their business objectives, challenges, and customer base. Combined with the audit, this information helped inform the design and development of a completely revised site.

We built Charm’s new website using the Drupal content management system and developed it to be fully responsive, allowing optimal viewing on desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone. Whatever device a customer is on, we wanted to ensure Charm’s products were being showcased in the best way possible. We also developed several custom features including an interactive family ring builder that allows customers to create their own family ring; an events module that integrates with Facebook; a product loader tool that simplifies the backend management for Charm staff; and an Interac integration module that lets customers pay online with debit.
